but apparently, 29 is a bad luck number, so he doesn't want ppl wishing him happy bday.

yesterday was a horrible day to say goodbye to the hospital. everyone was so stressed due to the staff shortage, but whatevs, that's over and done with. but i'm going to missss all my favourite nurses :(

had a 10 hour day at HSBC today. kinda crazies.

but i saw a very good looking dad on the bus today. he had 3 kids, and they were all uber cute.

i haven't even watched hotshot yet. geeze. i need the weekend.

well it's been a pretty random week. mon-wed were pretty dry actually. stella took 1.5 days off, and i spent lunch alone at bugis. but it was ok. i got some books from the library again, but haven't read them yet.

thursday, me and the tioman girls went back to Morton's for Martinis and steak sandwiches. we all took halfdays and actually, we stopped by the spa first before going. i watched linda and GI get their eyelashes permed. the entire process is quick and easy and now i'm eager to try it on someone. aha jkjk. but i'm thinking of getting mine done before i leave...cause it only lasts for a about a month. anyway, after the bar started getting very loud, we left for some scchoooppping! well, somewhat. after 2 months of finding shopping "unappealing" in SG, i'm starting to give in a little and slowly letting the retail therapy take its course. except, the last time i checked my "hong bao" stash, or what's left of it......there isn't anything left!!! :(:( so sad. so it's back to ATMs and guilty spending. but anywaaaays...after shopping, we went to McDs for green tea. we were all super dehyrdrated after. and heh, i'd say i got just a taaad tipsy that night over the martinis. i was toppling all over while trying on heels at Zara. but the drinks were really strong ok!!

friday, after work, me and Xiao Gu went to get Linda and we went for vegetarian. imitation meat is so fascinating to me. it tastes nothing like it!

saturday was halfday. so i finally met up with Wai Zin after work at AMK and we had lunch. then we went to a crafts store and ended up spending 2 hours there chatting with the boss. raaandom much? Wai Zin takes knitting classes there and so the boss is actually her teacher. but mann, this woman was super chatty. but very nice i guess. she kept trying to convince me to keep my Singapore citizenship and yeaah, about that...i still don't know what to do. but anyway, she bought us drinks, and then Wai Zin taught me how to make foam roses, and then i headed home. i got home around 6...and my Ah Ma had asked me the morning before if i wanted to go to the temple with her. she said she was leaving about 7...but then...i totally fell asleep, and i guess they never came to get me. i woke up around 10pm, but everything was dark, so i just went back to sleep. i guess i was exhausted last night. but i woke up at 6am...then played with my ipod for a bit--i updated the software for 10 bucks, and now there are so many cool applications to add on! i likeee. but all the cool games...you gotta pay. all the shitty ones are free.

i'm doing dimsum and karoake with tioman girls today. i need to shower first tho...cause i um, slept in my work clothes last night.

ooh. and linda's friend hooked me up with HSBC insurance. i start on wed. soooooooo NO MORE HOSPITAL :D:D:D:D but i'm going to miss my partner and even dirty convos like these...

finally. life.

so after returning from California Fitness last night, i was clearly dying, and thought i would have had a well rested sleep. however, i suffered from insomnia and woke up ridiculously early on my day off (9:30 on a sat morn!? unheard of.)

anyways. so i ate up a storm, caught up with some ppl, and then headed off to the salon with my Aunt Sharon (her bday today). well, the salon was for her, and since i just got a haircut, the guy just did a wash and blowdry for me. and guess what. he washed my hair ON THE SPOT. it was pretty awkward. he washed my hair while i was sitting in the chair...and i mean, the mirror's right there...and i didn't know whether to watch him shampoo my hair or stare at his face or just twiddle my thumbs and simply stare....nowhere. He's like..."oh they don't have this in canada? cause it's singapore/malaysia style". but i don't know how true that is...cause i still had to walk over to the basin after to rinse everything out.

next, mani/pedi. since my toenails are nonexistent, there wasn't very much to deal with. but i got some toeart done and it looks decent. and take a willld guess what colour my fingernails are. wahahaha PURPLE! duh!

next, dropped by home, and then went to eat curry crab with the uncle and aunt sharon.

then dropped by home again, to eat some fruits and talk about my nonexistent future.

then decided to go bowling. ahahaha oh man. our lane was totally retarded and the guy had to manually redeck our pins about 3 times. so we only played 2 games and as usual, i scored low double digits.

"ah-guh. i guarantee you if you take a walk down the aisle and stare at ppl's screens, you won't see a 37."

at the bowling place, there was that FIND IT PICTURE GAME. the game where you have 2 photos and need to find 5 things diff. AHHHH. KEVIN'S BAR. i could have sat theere all night if this little girl didn't intrude our game and take over the machine with her stupid chinese cooking shindig. so we said bye to her, let her use our $1 credit, and went to watch................DARK KNIGHT.

but. anyway. we caught the 12:10am and...........yeah...so i jumped about 50 times in the movie and hid under my shirt for about half of it. butttttt...it was good. however, i'm totally puzzled about whether Gordon is a good or bad cop???? is he or is he not? anyway. movie was decent. and i've finally made my decision that batman is my fave out of all the other superheros. my dark knight. *blushes*

it's ok.

i had lunch with the other temp girl and her high school friends today at an Egyptian restaurant near Bugis. it was this old street with lots of small vintage shops and Mediterranean eateries. Food was good, we had a lot of meat. I think i even ate lamb without knowing that it was actually lamb until after (i don't like lamb). i was really quiet during the whole meal, well, i'm usually quiet regardless, especially around new ppl anyways. It was 4 girls (i was deff 5th wheelin), but it was nice hearing them catch up with each other. They're all going overseas to study in Sept (3 of them to England), and so it's their last summer together, and they haven't seen each other for a while cause they've been so busy.

sighs.

it really made me miss my girls. gaaah. i can't help but think about all the things that i'm missing out this summer. all the random chilling (the $5 Wendys/Macs/McD's run really stands out), and birthdays and 4 hour bbt chats and fmp meetups. bah. but it's okkk. that just means there shall be no time wasted once sept hits. i'm writing a contract with all you ppl AHAH. k-style. all love no hate in 4th year. capische???

i was sitting on the MRT yesterday, thinking, damn, life is going to be like this, but 10 times harder once university is done. so maybe i should be glad that i don't have a real job this summer. i don't know, but all my jobs so far don't feel real. maybe cause they all involve brainless work (aka manual labour) and so it doesn't feel like real work? but it's okk, the whole call operator episode is becoming more chills (as long as my partner is there) and all the nurses are mad jokes. but other than that, my life in Singapore is very routine. and i guess that's what happens after all this. you go to work, do the 9-5 (except more like 6-7 for me), come home, eat, watch the tube/surf a lil/dance a lil ;), then hit the sack at 9-10pm (i've become so old). perhaps see the friends/fam on weekends, and bam, you find yourself lugging your ass out of bed at the break of monday's dawn.

but i figure working life would be pretty much identical in the tdot or anywhere else. i don't hate Singapore. i'm still happy to be in Asia. the food, the exotic fruits, the heat, the celebs, the relatives...i enjoy. living with the g-parents is also quite the experience on its own. my patience has really been tested lately because gah, my g-ma really is worse than my own mother. but it's only cause she's old and worries over everything. but it's been hard refraining myself from snapping at her (:S i'm pretty bad eh). must learn to tolerate. it's cause she cares. i know. must love. not hate.

i can't believe i have been away home for 7 mths. but can't say it hasn't been good times. i've always liked living away from home though. so i quite enjoy it. i just wish i have the 本事 to move out after all this is dunzo. maybe. with enough drive, just maybe.

so it's been ok so far i guess.
yeah i still miss it all like crazy. and wouldn't rewinding time a lil. but waaatcaanyadoo.
i hope everyone's having a great summer (may be the last for some of us).

The nurses at the hospital wear lime green polos and navy pants that were originally tailored for men. It was designed by one of the doctors there. The doctor had initially designed the same uniform for her maids--and it's what they wear at home.
